We Need to Talk About Linktree

While no company is perfect, I feel it's important to address some major issues I've encountered with Linktree.

Initially, I used Linktree before fully committing to building AuraWulf's official website. Even now, it serves as a marketing funnel. However, if you're currently subscribed to my Linktree, I strongly recommend unsubscribing immediately. For safety reasons, I am already transitioning everyone to my website.

The main issue with Linktree is that they treat a glitch as a feature. If you use custom designs—whether or not you're subscribed to their Pro features—everything reverts to a plain whitish-gray design (buttons, backgrounds, etc.) once your subscription is canceled. This happens even if you're only using free customizations. Additionally, features that were previously marked as "featured" may become "unfeatured."

Another problem is that Linktree automatically enrolls users into free trial modes, granting access to trial features without clear consent. Once the trial ends, your page reverts to the default design, even if you never used the trial features. Their customer service is equally frustrating. Whether you contact them for billing or support, their responses are vague, repetitive, and seem automated. They claim this behavior is a "feature," but I believe it's a glitch that needs to be addressed.

For example, if you're not using monetization features but are still placed in these trial categories, your customizations—like backgrounds and button designs—will reset to white. This is unacceptable. Removing a background that isn't a Pro feature shouldn't happen, and calling it a "feature" is misleading.

Moving forward, I am becoming increasingly independent by relying on Wix for AuraWulf. My goal is to provide users with better customization options, allowing you to showcase your links without the limitations and frustrations of Linktree. We plan to overhaul user details and offer URL link profile customizations that are more reliable and user-friendly.

In conclusion, I strongly advise against using Linktree unless absolutely necessary. We are working to create a better alternative for our community, one that avoids the pitfalls of platforms like Linktree. If our marketing funnel changes appearance, it’s because we’ve fixed it ourselves Or they changed it on us again but we will but they are worthless—proving that we can do better.
