My take on cybersecurity!

Hello everyone let's talk about cyber security.

If you're wondering cybersecurity in basic terms is you protecting yourself online. The online blue screen of death is always right there waiting to compromise you digitally We're looking at scammers hackers exploiters spammers bots DDOS attacks and you name it The list basically goes on I'm only touching on the tip of the iceberg and I mean this I encourage you to look at more official blogs about cybersecurity so you truly know the full extent of protecting yourself online.

This has been on my mind So I'll start with this parents Listen up platforms & accounts utilizing 18+ warnings aren't your personal babysitters The internet is not safe for children there are PDFs who would love to target your children Please watch over them and protect them They are your own responsibility and duty of care thank you However for everyone generally I suggest you use 2FA Take this scenario I'm a hacker or I managed to find or crack your account password Well your Gmail is compromised However with active use of two-factor authentication Gmail will see the login and request via email or text message to verify If you don't recognize it don't verify That's standard cybersecurity Common Sense It shouldn't be hard to realize two-factor is a lifesaver further stop writing and locking away passwords save it to your two-factor protected password manager on your Gmail then if you're that crazy save your Gmail password on a piece of paper and lock it away Just do it with common sense And honestly I don't think this needs to be a 2-hour common sense briefing but if you're still over here in spam folder clicking every single link or unsubscribe button that scammers and spammers send your officially seen as an idiot no offense because those have tracking in them or malware It's literally called spam folder for a reason Malicious actors who have your email address will try to cold contact for malicious marketing Just delete empty the folder and call it a day Safety should not be in a textbook it should be in common sense consult more official more helpful blogs when it comes to cybersecurity questions comments and concerns consult Google help center as well That's a thing if you don't know.

Of course I'd like to lastly call something out there's three types of entities online technically You got an account that exists and counts on the fact that the platform even exists then you got a platform made by a big corporation then you got small platform developers making their own platform like me I'm a Wix website developer I made this website your reading this on I drafted this blog post as well Now I'd like to give heavy extreme caution even corporations can be sketchy Make sure you are actually checking transparency and real human reviews and doing background checks on the person or agency who owns the platform and holds the keys to that digital Kingdom before creating an account or providing data to it remember Wix is built as a drag and drop and AI development service free but with constraints of course Anyone could use this for malicious purposes but people could also choose to use it for good if you're going to be a developer don't be a bad one For instance I don't collect much data I just collect your email for you to create your account or become a email subscriber to get notified whatever you show is unneeded and at your own discretion Community driven developments like this website usually go on simple strict rules protecting it from having to deal with the horrors of Maine social media problems nonetheless always watch your step on the internet If you find my personal worldview and opinion wildly versed in cybersecurity You're kind of right I'm somewhat versed in that landscape cuz I want to protect myself and by saying this I'm hoping to reach the eyes of someone with some common sense who will heed my warnings to be careful online.
